Take the published makeover suite, one vocabulary makeover-layout 0.9, makeover-webview 0.18, makeover-build 0.10, makeover-tui 0.9. The pins had to move together. Pre-1.0 a minor is breaking, so any crate left on 0.8 pulled a second copy of makeover-layout into the graph, and two vocabularies in one tree is the failure the description layer exists to prevent. The last two holders were not runtime deps and are worth naming: makeover-build reached 0.8 through makeover-webview 0.17 as a build-dependency chain, and got pinned makeover-tui 0.8.0.
